a seed of longing for Art to whisper to the timeless spirit within

 

Growing up in a family of artists, I was immersed in spaces that evoked creative thought, alas it was the slow dance my grandfather shared with death, that truly awakened the yearning for heartfelt mark making.

 

In his final years, we would sit together in silence, painting with watercolours amidst public spaces, drawing inspiration from the nostalgia of his life. I observed him paint with limited mobility, yet he emanated this quality of courage that later served as a guide for creating from a deep well within my being.

 

He was a teacher of art to me, and remains as an eternal muse for my work to this day.
